Responsible use, operator expectations, and platform boundaries.

HeadlessX Manifesto

HeadlessX is built for legitimate scraping, testing, research, and automation workflows. It is not a promise that every target will remain accessible, and it is not intended for abusive or unlawful use.

What HeadlessX is for

  • operator-controlled data collection
  • website testing and change monitoring
  • search and media extraction workflows
  • self-hosted automation pipelines

What HeadlessX is not for

  • denial-of-service or disruptive traffic
  • credential stuffing
  • unlawful data harvesting
  • bypassing legal, contractual, or privacy obligations

Responsible scraping principles

Respect site boundaries

Review target policies, robots directives, and rate limits before scraping at scale.

Minimize load

Use realistic concurrency, delays, and queue controls. A technically successful scrape can still be operationally irresponsible.

Handle personal data carefully

Do not collect or retain personal or sensitive data without a valid legal basis and a clear security model.

Expect anti-bot systems to evolve

HeadlessX improves your operational position. It does not remove the need for judgment, compliance, or maintenance.

Operator responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • how you deploy the platform
  • which targets you access
  • how you store and distribute scraped data
  • whether your use complies with applicable laws and platform terms

Project stance

The project favors:

  • explicit system behavior over vague marketing claims
  • self-hosted control over hidden managed behavior
  • operator visibility through logs, jobs, and diagnostics
  • documentation that matches the current codebase
