Why proxies matter for HeadlessX

HeadlessX uses a custom-compiled Camoufox engine that passes every major bot detection test at the browser level. But detection isn't only about the browser, it's also about the IP behind the request.

When you run HeadlessX on a VPS, your outbound traffic comes from datacenter IP ranges. Many anti-bot systems flag datacenter IPs before they even look at the browser fingerprint. Adding residential or ISP proxy capacity removes that signal and gives you a real edge on sensitive targets.

What BirdProxies offers

BirdProxies is a current HeadlessX sponsor. They built their proxy service around the same problem HeadlessX solves, making web extraction work at scale without getting blocked.

Strengths for HeadlessX users

  • Residential IPs route your traffic through real ISP connections, which makes every request look like a normal user, not a datacenter bot.
  • ISP proxies give you the speed of datacenter with the trust profile of residential. Best balance for high-throughput crawl and scrape jobs.
  • 195+ geo locations let you match the proxy region to your target, reducing CAPTCHA triggers and regional blocks.
  • Fair pricing means no commitment traps or overpriced bandwidth. Pay for what you use.

How to configure BirdProxies with HeadlessX

You can add BirdProxies through the HeadlessX dashboard or directly via the API.

Dashboard

  1. Open Settings in the HeadlessX dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Proxies section.
  3. Add a new proxy with your BirdProxies credentials.

API

Once added, HeadlessX rotates the proxy across your configured list on each browser session.

When to use BirdProxies

  • Production scrape jobs where targets actively block datacenter IPs
  • Geo-sensitive targets that serve different content by region
  • High-volume crawl workflows that need stable, trusted IP ranges
  • Search engine scraping where the same IP hitting repeated queries gets flagged
